The Journal In Which I answer My Own Question.

To be short on the answer: A/I fans are committing a sunk-cost fallacy. To be longer: a brief history of the Hellsing fandom. The year is 2002. I'd just entered the fandom and they're is a number of sites dedicated to proving their favorite pairing. They are by no means completely civil. A/S fans characterize Integra as a cold-hearted bitch and A/I fans characterize Seras as a bimbo. So nothing has really changed there. While there are criticisms that can be leveled at both exaggeration is the name of the game. With the anime over and the manga continuing the pointless whining over who would 'get' Alucard kept on going. But now the type of
